On Wednesday, 5 August 2015, in the evening at 20:38, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Jonava–Žasliai–Kalniniai Mijaugonys national road (kilometre 34.60), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane and a Suzuki GSX-R 1000. Two people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Suzuki (hospitalized) and a 39-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.17‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
