On Wednesday, 12 August 2015, at night at 0:14, in Biržų district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Vabalninkas–Biržai national road (kilometre 27), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Skoda Yeti. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
