On Sunday, 23 August 2015, in the evening at 17:04, in Kėdainių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 134.22), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a Mazda MX-3. Five people were injured — a 3-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 38-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), the 21-year-old driver of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient, had no driving licence), a 5-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 1-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Volvo (19 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
