On Friday, 28 August 2015, in the afternoon at 13:30, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kybartai–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 14), a Volvo V40 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volvo V40 (1 year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.01‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
