On Sunday, 6 September 2015, in the afternoon at 15:50, in Varėnos district municipality, Panaros village, on Nemuno street near No. 10, a BMW 320D hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 22-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol). A 22-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (2.29‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
