On Saturday, 12 September 2015, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 24.97), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Yamaha YZF 600, a Suzuki GSX-R 600 and a Yamaha XV 1700. Four people were injured — the 40-year-old driver of the Yamaha YZF 600 (severely injured, hospitalized), a 44-year-old passenger of the Yamaha XV 1700 (treated as an outpatient), the 45-year-old driver of the Yamaha XV 1700 (treated as an outpatient) and the 36-year-old driver of the Suzuki (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Yamaha YZF 600 (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
