On Monday, 24 August 2015, in the afternoon at 12:10, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 37), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volvo (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
