On Monday, 28 September 2015, in the afternoon at 13:36, in Širvintų district municipality, Šalkiškių village, on the Kieliai–Avižonys–Šiauliai regional road (kilometre 5.09), a Mercedes-Benz Actros rolled over. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (18 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
