On Saturday, 3 October 2015, in the morning at 8:03, in Tauragės district municipality, Požerūnų village, on the national road, a Mercedes-Benz C230 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.61‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was wet.
