On Sunday, 11 October 2015, at night at 0:30, in Šakių district municipality, on P. Mašioto street near No. 25, an Opel Vectra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.95‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
