On Tuesday, 13 October 2015, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kėdainių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 137.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (38 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules and failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
