On Thursday, 29 October 2015, at night at around 0:00, in Šiauliai, on Gegužių street near No. 26, at a gas station, a Mazda 323 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Mazda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
