Hit-and-run Opel driver in crash with Hyundai on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas road
On Friday, 30 October 2015, in the evening at 18:02, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 62.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Hyundai Santa FE. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Opel (19 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
