On Saturday, 31 October 2015, in the afternoon at 14:30, in Jurbarko district municipality, Naujokų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 55.12), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia and a Mercedes-Benz 300. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Skoda (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.49‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
