Ford hits a drunk pedestrian on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė road
On Monday, 9 November 2015, in the evening at 18:35, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 49), a Ford Galaxy hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 36-year-old pedestrian, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (2.80‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
