On Tuesday, 10 November 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street near No. 172B, a BMW 730 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 23-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (7 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
