On Sunday, 15 November 2015, at night at 1:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Vėžaičių town, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 267), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Mitsubishi Grandis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.21‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
