On Tuesday, 24 November 2015, in the evening at 18:16, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 145.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E320 and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz E320 (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.33‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
