On Wednesday, 25 November 2015, in the evening at 22:38, in Anykščių district municipality, Balčiūniškių village, on the Viešintos–Papiliai–Pelyšėlės regional road (kilometre 5.11), a Volkswagen Golf rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol). A 25-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
