On Friday, 27 November 2015, in the afternoon at 16:23, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 55), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Nissan Almera. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Audi (45 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
