On Monday, 30 November 2015, in the morning at 9:30, in Plungės district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 35.27), a BMW 530 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
