On Thursday, 17 December 2015, in the evening at 18:18, in Mažeikių district municipality, Daubarių village, on Piliakalnio street near No. 6, an Opel Zafira ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.97‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was icy.
