On Sunday, 20 December 2015, at night at 0:10, in Kėdainių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 35.72), an Opel Vectra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Opel (15 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs, committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.51‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
