On Tuesday, 22 December 2015, in the evening at around 17:00, in Vilnius, on Kareivių street, at the junction with Verkių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Sharan and a Ford Focus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
