On Thursday, 24 December 2015, at night at around 2:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Dirkintų village, on Slėnio street near No. 12, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.37‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
