On Saturday, 16 January 2016, in the morning at 6:18, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 24), an Audi A4 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.53‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
