On Wednesday, 20 January 2016, in the evening at 17:50, in Klaipėdos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Veiviržėnai–Endriejavas regional road (kilometre 5.60), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Citroen C3 Pluriel and a Volvo. Two people were injured — the 51-year-old driver of the Citroen (hospitalized) and the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Citroen (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
