On Sunday, 7 February 2016, at night at 1:50, in Šiauliai, on Dubijos street, at the junction with Ežero street, an Audi 80 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.76‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
