On Thursday, 11 February 2016, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on A. Smetonos al., at the junction with Mažoji street, a Volkswagen Passat CC ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (14 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
