On Saturday, 13 February 2016, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Alytaus district municipality, Butrimonių town, on Vilniaus street near No. 8, at the junction with Dariaus ir Girėno street, a Mazda 323 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.59‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
