On Tuesday, 23 February 2016, at night at 2:45, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 161.90), a Saab 9-3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Saab (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
