On Saturday, 12 March 2016, in the morning at around 6:00, in Vilnius, on V. Maciuliavičiaus street near No. 30, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caravelle registered in Norway and a Nissan Juke. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
