On Sunday, 20 March 2016, in the evening at around 22:00, in Šakių district municipality, on the Rupinai–Jadagoniai–Pavilkijys–Kriūkai regional road (kilometre 14.69), a Volvo V70 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volvo (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
