Drunk Audi driver in crash with BMW on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Thursday, 24 March 2016, in the morning at 9:50, in Kauno district municipality, Kumpių village, on Vakarų street near No. 14, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a BMW 730 d. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Audi (17 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.75‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
