On Tuesday, 29 March 2016, in the evening at 19:40, in Kaunas, on Pylimo street near No. 5, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf, who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.48‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
