On Friday, 1 April 2016, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šakių district municipality, Miliškių village, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 54.32), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The accident was caused by the 79-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (39 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. All drivers were sober.
