On Saturday, 23 April 2016, in the evening at around 20:00, in Vilnius, on Nemenčinės highway near No. 33, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
