On Wednesday, 27 April 2016, in the evening at 19:01, in Vilnius, on Žirmūnų street near No. 143, at the junction with Kareivių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Nissan 200SX and a Subaru Impreza. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals, failed to keep a safe distance and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.81‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
