On Friday, 29 April 2016, in the afternoon at 13:50, in Šiauliai, on Aido street, at the junction with Dainų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a Saab. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of the Ford (39 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
