Drunk, unlicensed Peugeot driver runs off the road on the Pašventys–Smalininkai–Užtilčiai road
On Sunday, 24 April 2016, in the evening at 17:29, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Pašventys–Smalininkai–Užtilčiai regional road (kilometre 5.22), a Peugeot 406 ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 27-year-old driver of the Peugeot (hospitalized) and a 17-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.30‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
