On Friday, 6 May 2016, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Aušros al., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Seat Cordoba and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Seat, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.36‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
