On Friday, 13 May 2016, in the afternoon at 15:29, in Utenos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an UAZ 330301 and an Opel Frontera B. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the UAZ, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
