On Wednesday, 18 May 2016, in the evening at 22:28, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Bubiai–Ramučiai national road (kilometre 13.15), a BMW 318 registered in Great Britain ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
