On Tuesday, 31 May 2016, in the afternoon at 11:27, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 275), a Hyundai i40 registered in Germany hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the driver of the Hyundai (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
