On Sunday, 5 June 2016, in the afternoon at 14:03, in Skuodo district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Skuodas national road (kilometre 26), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 registered in Sweden and a Saab 9-5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volvo (7 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
