On Friday, 10 June 2016, in the afternoon at 13:25, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 19), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Galaxy and an OAF. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Ford (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.87‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
