On Tuesday, 14 June 2016, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Šarkuvos street near No. 1A, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 626 and a Hyundai i40. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.91‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
