On Friday, 15 July 2016, in the morning at 8:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 275), a Mazda 6 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mazda (22 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
