On Monday, 18 July 2016, at night at 4:10, in Šilalės district municipality, Jakaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 232.30), a Volkswagen Sharan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
