On Saturday, 13 August 2016, in the morning at 10:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 280), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel Astra (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
